Our learning environment reflects an extension of your children’s home environment that is warm, loving and welcoming. We consider children as capable builders of their own knowledge!
Our Philosophy
We believe that children learn best when they are interested and engaged, we use their interests as the focus of our programming, as it helps us ensure that learning is not only fun and interesting, but also meaningful and relevant to the individual child and their families.
Here at Chiquito’s children initiate their projects, investigation or play a collaborative role with other children. Our daily routine is flexible and recognizes the individual needs of the children. The children also have the opportunity to carry on excursions that help to extend their learning!
Chiquitos is licenced to care for 4 children per day under the age of five, PLUS three school age for before and after school age. This is an excellent care ratio of one carer to four children.
We value the diversity within Australian society and actively engage in discussions and experiences with children that aim to respect that diversity and challenge stereotypes and biases. Children are always exposed to a wide range of social and cultural experiences, family types, and abilities so that they may learn from diversity.
We believe that an effective environment requires respect and a way to share and utilize the interests, skills and resources of each member of daycare. We understand the skills, abilities and needs of children, families, and the community are constantly changing, therefore ongoing evaluation is integral to creating a service that is responsive to those needs.
